Sustainable food stakeholders will discuss ways to strengthen rural-urban linkages: register before 5 April

Mon 25 Mar 2019

ICLEI, the Flemish Land Agency and ROBUST are pleased to invite you to the 29th Breakfast at Sustainability’s (B@S), titled: “Fostering the Circular Food Economy through Stronger Rural-Urban Linkages”.

The event, which will consist of a mix of keynote speeches and panel discussions, will bring together a variety of sustainable food system experts and stakeholders to explore how we can strengthen rural-urban linkages to improve city-region synergies and sustainability, support rural economies, and promote a circular food economy.

The various expertise areas represented on the panel will include sustainable food procurement, the circular food economy, urban food policies, tourism and culture, health, integrated land management / territorial planning, and nature-based solutions.

B@S is Europe’s leading, ongoing series of sustainability discussions, addressing the most urgent and vital topics on the sustainable urban development agenda.

ROBUST is an innovative transdisciplinary rural-urban research project funded by the EU’s Horizon 2020 Research and Innovation programme.

Together, we are using this forum to have a “robust” discussion about rural-urban linkages with a variety of European sustainable food system stakeholders.

The event will be held from 09:30 -12:30 on Thursday, 11 April 2019, at the Flemish Land Agency in Brussels. The event will be followed by a light networking lunch.  Download the draft programme here.

Event entry is free of charge but places are limited, and registration is required. Registration for the event will close when the places have been filled or before 5 April 2019.  To register, click here.
